What is “thread count”?
Thread count is a simple way of measuring the number of horizontal and vertical threads in every square inch of your bed linen. So, the higher the thread count, the more threads there are in the material. However, in order to pack so many threads into a small space, thinner threads are required. When done right, you have a softer, slightly heavier fabric. Therefore, a higher thread count often (but not always) means more luxurious. But how can we know the good quality from the bad?
